RAY-CORE SIPs ® Safety
As with any construction material, ordinary care and safety precautions should be followed when working with or handling RAYCORE Structural Insulated Panels ® SIPs.
RAY-CORE SIPs ® Safety Considerations:
Proper Lifting Techniques Should Be Followed.
Lifting the SIPs:
Although the panels are relatively light considering their size and in comparison to sandwich panel SIPs, it is important that proper lifting techniques be practiced when moving the panels.
Walking on the SIP Panels:
RAYCORE Structural Insulated Panels ® are made of high density polyurethane foam and can be walked on without damaging the panel. The surface of the panels is quite smooth and can slippery. Extra caution should be taken when walking on the panels. Polyurethane dust, environmental dust, dirt, etc. may reduce traction when on the panels. Wet, icy or windy conditions can greatly increase the risk of slipping or sliding. As with other construction materials, always exercise caution when walking or working on the SIP panels and use approved fall protection when appropriate and required.
Working With RAY-CORE SIPs ® In Poor Weather Conditions:
Do not walk on or work with RAYCORE SIPs panels in wet, icy or windy conditions.
Wear approved eye protection and dust protection, if necessary, when working with or cutting RAY-CORE SIPs ®.
